Dear ,
Greetings from steamy summer New York City!
Last week, my husband waited in line for 2 hours to get free tickets for Shakespeare in the Park’s production of Coriolanus.
With a post-apocalypse, Mad Max style set, the main actors delivered stellar performances in one of Shakespeare’s few political plays.
Just before the intermission, a voice on the loudspeaker interrupted the play and asked the actors to leave the stage.
As the house lights went up, an ambulance siren was audible in the distance. EMS arrived to take a viewer to the hospital.
Once they left, the house lights went dim and the play resumed.
While members of the theater staff weren’t clear about what had happened, they knew how to respond.
Actionable Marketing Lesson
The voice of the theater manager hit home since I spent most of last week at Voice Summit 19, a conference that focused on the use of voice in today’s connected world.
In his MAICON19 keynote, Mitch Joel highlighted the challenges of voice search and inspired the audience.
Want the latest research on audio?
Then listen to Tom Webster’s, 2019 Share of Ear, Edison Research webinar.
Yext’s Duane Forrester provided a deeper analysis of voice’s impact on your audience’s ability to discover information versus what they search for. It gets down to users intent: What they want to know; Where
they want to go; What they want to do, and What they want to buy.
Bottom Line:
Search marketing continues to expand. But you must be answer-ready or you'll lose audience, prospects and customers.
Actionable Marketing Lesson:
- Be findable where and when your potential visitors seek your information and/or products. Then provide answers in the formation and context they want.
Actionable marketing tips:
- Develop your brand voice. Include related sounds, language and accent. Consider how your audience will react to it.
