Greetings from the Rockies! Summer escapism at it’s best.

But I must confess that while I’d love to visit the Rockies, I’ve only seen them from tiny plane windows en route to California.

I actually meant rocks, the ones that form a perimeter on Brighton Beach. They’re across from the Rockaways.

They’re another New York City beach destination in Queens, the largest of New York City’s 5 boroughs. When my Southern Californian nephew had an internship in NYC, he got up and left his apartment at 5:45 am to surf before showing up at work, surfboard and all.

  • Take-away: Plan your days to include activities that allow you to enjoy life and feed your personal growth. Support a personal passion and build your skills.

On Brighton Beach, the sun was shining but there was a strong breeze off the ocean. The lifeguard embodied how to take advantage of summer. Standing watch on the stones, he faced the world.

Use this pre-Back-To-School period to reassess your business and personal goals. I do. It’s like having a do-over for your forgotten New Year’s resolutions.

I challenge you to answer these questions for yourself. There’s no right or wrong answer. The key to success is action.

  • What is your plan for the remainder of 2016?
  • How will these actions help build your future?
  • What will you do that will make a difference (no matter how small) in your life and those around you?
